Salt & Light Speech-Language Resources is my way to connect with others and empower those seeking support and therapy in the areas of communication, swallowing, and overall health and wellness! It is my mission to offer guidance and personalized care to clients and their families. I have been personally called to utilize my time and talents to serve God and help you recover and achieve your goals.

Meet Amanda
Hi, I'm Amanda (Scott) Mavrakos, the Salt & Light Speech-Language Resources owner. I am an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist licensed to practice in Alabama. I believe in individualized patient-centered care that aligns with each family's values. My focus is on providing intentional care for my patient and their families.
I graduated with my master's degree in speech-language pathology from The University of Montevallo in 2018. I'm also on my second career after practicing as a physical therapy assistant for 15 years. Since 2018 I have been working in home health care and pursuing the dream of owning my private practice. I am beyond thrilled to have my practice in Vestavia Hills, AL. My specific areas of expertise include speech sound disorders, dysphagia, aphasia, stuttering, language delays, and orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs).
When you and your family work with me, no communication goal is off-limits. I truly understand the value of small, meaningful tasks that many take for granted. I want to empower you with the tools and strategies you need to make your life easier.
